What’s up with these damn feline stalkers?! every week there’s a new one trying to dominate the typical area, which sucks since that’s where Tabs likes to do his morning exercises as well as tai chi.

Every time he goes out there, there’s a different feline skulking around the worker auto parking area, even though there are signs posted all over that say, “No soliciting cats. step OFF!” as well as whenever Tabs turns to head back to the office, there’s always some feline intruder trying to sneak around the corner to make a relocation on him.

I never would have thought to wear a beet red lip with a bronzy eye, but it looked so good on Katie Jane that I wanted to try. I also mixed two lipsticks together this time to get the matte purplish red, and I like how it turned out.

Tabs has a wanderer’s heart. Whenever we’re on our walks together on the hill behind our house, he always wants us to go south. He carefully tugs on his leash as if to say, “Let’s go that way,” as well as stares off in the distance toward the town of Mill Valley, which is where we utilized to online before we moved here.

I don’t understand if it’s just my imagination, however whenever I let him lead us, he always wants us to go the exact same way: south.

I mean, we’ll check out the hill, as well as he’ll climb trees as well as chase birds as well as nibble eco-friendly grass, however he’s always trying to nudge us in the exact same direction.

Sometimes I question if he would try to walk the whole way. I hope not. It’s about 20 miles, as well as the only method to get there is by highway, or with the open Novato hills, which are full of coyotes as well as bobcats as well as raccoons as well as other animals that are wilder than Tabs.

It’s one of the reasons I’ve never felt comfortable letting him go outside right here on his own — since I’m scared he’d try to walk all the method back to Mill Valley.

He as well as I have been on countless walks right here together, as well as no matter what, he always wants us to go south.

It makes me type of sad… I always have to stop us before we reach the primary road as well as say, “I’m sorry, Tabby. We can’t go that way. It’s as well far,” as well as he pulls the leash taut as well as stares toward the southern horizon.

Yeah, It’s Time to highlight These hourglass Ambient Strobe illumination Powders

Yeah, It’s Time to highlight These hourglass Ambient Strobe illumination Powders

using new hourglass Ambient Strobe illumination Powder in Euphoric Strobe Light on my upper cheekbones as well as down the bridge of my nose…
Whenever I believe of hourglass makeup, I believe of elegance…refinement…and makeup that’s friggin’ beautiful, as well as their four new $38 Ambient Strobe illumination Powders evoke the living daylights out of all three of those things (I likewise talk about them briefly in this 5 things I’m Loving Lately video).

To me, this is highlighting done so exceptionally right.

The four new hourglass Ambient Strobe illumination Powders

I admit it: I get persnickety often about my powder highlighters because, ya know, when you’re a lady of a specific age, the metallic ones? — even though they’re lovely, remarkable as well as ever-so eye-catching, they can likewise be a bear to work with when the frosty flecks go snorkeling in your pores as well as fine lines, as well as they end up highlighting all the stuff that you really didn’t want to highlight at all…

Now…I’m gonna state this next phrase, even though I understand it’s a worn out cliché, however these Ambient Strobes truly do produce that lit-from-within candlelit glow. The magic, according to Hourglass, comes from fabulously fine pearl bits in different sizes, which show light to diverse degrees.

Swatches of the hourglass Ambient Strobe illumination Powders…
Unlike the likewise otherworldly, remarkable O.G. hourglass Ambient Powders, the Strobes are strictly highlighters (the O.G. Ambients can likewise be utilized for other things). Whereas I may put the O.G. Ambient illumination Powders around my deal with or utilize them to set my under-eye concealer, I wouldn’t do those things with the Strobes.

Packaging for the new hourglass Ambient Strobe illumination Powders
That’s not a knock on them. They’re just a bit different than their older cousins, however I likewise lurve them. as well as I likewise believe they get much better as you wear them throughout the day.

They’re offered in four darned near foolproof, versatile shades (all created to be used by all skin tones).

Sometimes, with other highlighters, I’ll apply some as well as feel like, “Oh, my gosh! I’m using as well much…” however with these, even when I do inadvertently go overboard, it doesn’t look bad.

Yeah, I got mad like for these Ambient Strobe illumination Powders!

They’re smaller, by the way, than the original Ambients. For comparison, they’re the exact same size as the hourglass blushes.

Oh! — as well as hourglass likewise released a a cool bit $22 sponge with which to apply them, as well as it is handy… You can utilize the angled part to highlight your upper cheekbones, as well as the idea to highlight your nose as well as Cupid’s bow, however I don’t necessarily believe it’s must-have if you already have a great highlighting brush.

stuff in my shower I’m loving…and stuff I’m not
OK, I’ll come clean (haha! get it?). I spend an inordinate amount of time in my shower since 1) nobody asks me concerns while I’m in there, 2) nobody bites my ankles, 3) nobody tugs at my hair, tries to get on my lap, or pleads for food (I’m speaking to you, Tabs). It’s my risk-free place, so if it seems like I spend much more time showering than a typical lady should, it’s since I AM HIDING.

A couple things I’m currently utilizing in the quest of covert cleanliness…

H2O+ charm Coconut Verbena Body laundry as well as Body Butter Body Duo ($34 for both)

I’m gonna phone call it. This will be a summertime 2018 “must have.” between the foamy bath gel (bubbly nirvana) as well as the moisturizing body butter (I’ve got lizard skin as well as utilize it twice/day — when in the morning as well as once again at night), my skin smells like I just teleported right here from the Grand Hyatt in Poipu on Kauai.

Lemony without venturing into Pledge territory, as well as coco-nutty without smelling like a corny star perfume. It’s difficult to discover something that smells tropical without the eau de sunscreen notes, a la Bobbi brown Beach, as well as this hits the spot. Plus, the backs of your knees won’t feel sticky later on (totally crucial).

They’re likewise a great offer if you purchase them together in the duo. $34 for a 12.2-oz. bottle of the Body laundry as well as an 8-oz. bottle of Body Butter ($40 bought separately).

Products I have completely used Up! will I Repurchase Them?

Do you get that intense feeling of complete satisfaction when you use the last drop of something you’ve been working on for months? It makes me feel like an actual responsible adult who got her money’s worth! If I completely use up a product, it’s typically a testament to how much I love using it…usually.

Rather than chucking my empties into the garbage, I channeled my inner hoarder and kept my trash in a box to take pictures of and show you all. completely normal!

1. easy Cleansing Facial Wipes ($5.99 at Ulta)

Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes ($5.99 for 25 wipes, available at Ulta)
I’ve gone through an absurd number of these wipes — like, literally much more than 20 packs of 25 wipes! I really ought to collect the empty wrappers to see how numerous I actually use…

These are my all-time favorite go-to makeup removers. I’ve tried numerous different wipes and even micellar water on cotton pads. some of them are nice, but I always, always, always come back to these.

The actual cloth wipes are so good and soft and don’t irritate my skin, and the cleanser they’re soaked in is very gentle and doesn’t burn my eyes, but it still does the job and gets off all of my makeup.

Will I repurchase them? Yes, I already have, and I’m rapidly burning through my last pack!

2. Pixi glow Tonic exfoliating Toner ($15 for 3.4 oz.)

Pixi glow Tonic ($15 for 3.4 oz.)
Ugh, I hate how fast I go through these toners! I get the smaller, less expensive 3.4-oz. bottle because I feel like I’m being oh, so thrifty, but I fly through them in about three weeks (I use it twice a day).

I really ought to get the bigger bottle, huh.

I fell in love with this toner a few months ago and have been religiously using it ever since. I like that it’s exfoliating and helps get rid of some of the bumpy, uneven texture I tend to get on my skin. It really does leave my skin very soft and glowing.

I’ve talked about why I think toners are so essential in my Pixi Skincare routine post, but you really ought to use one. Really.

Will I repurchase? Yes! As soon as I make it back to Target, which is about an hour away from where I live!

I know. feel sorry for me.

3. yes To Tomatoes Acne Clearing Facial Toner ($9.99 for 8.5 oz.)

Yes To Tomatoes Acne Clearing Facial Toner ($9.99 for 8.5 oz.)
You know how when you use something and you’re trying to decide what you think about it, but you really don’t know? That’s how I feel about yes To Tomatoes Acne Clearing Facial Toner…

I picked it up when my skin was acting up and used it off and on for about six months until I finished it.

I really don’t know what to say about this one!

Obviously, it didn’t “wow!” me, but I didn’t hate it either. It did the job and got my skin very clean, but I can’t really remember if it helped me with breakouts or not. My guess is that if I don’t remember, it probably didn’t.

I wouldn’t completely write this one off, though, if you’re searching for something with salicylic acid and witch hazel to keep your pores good and tight. I do really like the ingredients in this.

Will I repurchase it? probably not…mostly because I wasn’t wow’d by it.

4. Ole Henrikson Nurture Me moisturizer ($40)

Ole Henrikson Nurture Me ($40)
I wish I remember the name of the man who helped me that fateful day in Sephora when I was encouraged to give this moisturizer a try because he changed my life!

OK, that’s a little much, but I love this moisturizer so much. I went in searching for something, anything, to help calm the redness that I was experiencing on my skin and came out with this.

First off, I have to tell you how good it smells, because if something smells amazing, that makes me love it 100 times more. It legit smells like the most delicious orange Creamcicles… My mouth waters each time I use it.

Of course, the smell isn’t why I use it, though. Not only does it soothe my skin and ease the redness, but it makes my skin feel so smooth and comfortable. There are no massive, angry breakouts, no redness, no rough texture. My skin is happy!

Will I repurchase? Absolutely! As soon as all the bills are paid and everyone has what they need, I will purchase my magic orange Creamsicle again.

5. Mario Badescu drying lotion ($17)

Mario Badescu drying lotion ($17)
Drying Lotion. sounds like a bit of a contradiction, doesn’t it? Basically, this is a spot treatment for blemishes, and guys, it works. If you’ve got a massive, angry spot, get a Q-tip, get some of the product on there, and coat the hideous offender before bed. It’ll shrink overnight and become so much much more manageable.

I don’t know how it works so well, but it does. It should include magical ingredients to suck all of the gunk (mmm, yummy) out of your zit and clear it up so much faster than it would have if you had just left it alone.

Sadly, I ought to stillhave a lot left, but I spilled it all over the place. thus the nasty-looking bottle.

Will I repurchase? Yes! As soon as my skin starts acting up again, which it always does, I’ll pick a new one up at Ulta.

6. makeup forever HD Microfinish Powder ($35)

Makeup forever HD Microfinish Powder ($35)
Now, for a couple of finished makeup thingies…

First, I got a small size of the makeup forever HD Microfinish Powder because I’d always heard terrific things about it and had to give it a try for myself. Well, it did not fail to live up to its reputation!

This is such a good powder. It’s unnoticeable on the skin but mattifies any shine you have and makes you look like you’re airbrushed. I mostly use it to set my undereye concealer because it doesn’t crease at all.

I’ll also dust a light layer over my foundation where it helps my bronzer, blush, and highlight blend perfectly and never go chunky or patchy.

Will I repurchase? Yup, already got the full size!

7. NYX Micro Brow Pencil ($9.99)

NYX Micro Brow Pencil ($9.99)
Best brow pencil in the world best here!

Well, it’s tied with Anastasia Brow Wiz, but it’s half the price! — which I guess makes it better. The suggestion is the ideal size for really light flicking motions to create realistic-looking brow hairs, which is my favorite way to fill in brows.

There’s not much else to say about this one… It’s just the ideal brow pencil!

What I wore Wednesday, Vol. 6: Daytime Smoky Eyeshadow for Hooded Eyes

another day, another smoky eye! — and guuuurl, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I did a variation, though. This one’s a little different than my typical smoky eye. I took a different path to get to my smoky place.

Smoking it out with cream shadows

I was inspired by this smoky eyeshadow look for hooded eyes on Monika Blunder’s channel.

I love her! She does lots of wearable looks. In this tutorial, she uses cream shadows to build up the smoke on her lids and lower lash lines. Normally, I would have just used powder eyeshadows, so this was a new thing for me.

I blended Clinique Chubby Stick in Fuller Fudge on my lids and MAC pro Longwear waterproof Colour Stick in Bitter Clove in the outer corners with a MAC 217 (for haziness), and I smudged Clinique Curvaceous Coal along my lower lash lines with a pointy smudge brush.

The cream shadow sticks are SO fast and easy to control, BTW. I’m certainly going to use these three again.

MAC Feline Kohl Power Pencil, MEOW!

Can we just talk about this black liner for a second? one of the things that makes a smoky eye a smoky eye for me is the black liner, and this one is GORGEOUS. because I haven’t had the chance to get another stick of Chanel 88 Noir Intense, I used MAC Feline Kohl Power Pencil instead (another fave), which is a deep, dark, intensely glossy black.

I love how it looks with smoky eyes, especially along the water line, but it’s one of those pencils that works best if you do multiple layers, so I apply the first one, let it dry, add the second, let it dry (rinse and repeat as desired). It’s worth it, though, for intense drama for yo’ mama. I would wear it every day if I didn’t have to layer it so much, ha!

Leave it to me to go on a tangent about black liner for five minutes…

The purr-fect nude lip for pigmented pouts

Also, have you ever tried MAC Patentpolish Lip Pencil in Clever? Oh! It’s a beautiful brick-coral, and if you have pigmented lips like I do, it’s a ideal dark nude. When my lips feel dry and look hella flaky, I’m all about smart because it’s MEGA moisturizing.

NEW! MAC next to nothing face Colour foundation and pressed Powder

I can’t believe I practically forgot to mention this! These are both coming out from MAC next month: MAC next to nothing face Colour foundation and pressed Powder. There’s a liquid foundation that comes in a glass bottle with a pump, and also a pressed powder. They’re lightweight, sheer and glowing, which I’m all about.

Today I blended medium plus with medium Deep (because I’m complicated like that) for the foundation and used medium pressed Powder to set.

I’ll keep testing them over the next few days and let ya know how they do!

This makeup look: What’s in the mix?

Eyes: make up For ever Eyeshadow in M-536 (crease), Clinique Chubby Stick in Fuller Fudge and MAC pro Longwear waterproof Colour Stick in Bitter Clove (outer corner), Clinique Chubby Stick in Curvaceous Coal (lower lash line), MAC Feline (water line), NARS Audacious Mascara (lashes), MAC Brun and benefit ready set Brow (brows).

Cheeks: NARS sun wash Diffusing Bronzer in Laguna (cheeks) and NARS hot Sand blush (upper cheek bones).

Face: Clarins Flash Balm (applied all over my face to moisturize and prime), MAC next to nothing face Colours in medium plus and medium Deep (applied all over my face), MAC next to nothing pressed Powder in medium (on my forehead, down the sides of my nose and around my mouth) and make up For ever HD Concealer (under my eyes and on my cheeks).

Makeup Shortcuts: Smoke Out Your Lids With Liner, as well as prevent having to clean Up after effects [Featuring Chanel summertime 2017]

Makeup Shortcuts: Smoke Out Your Lids With Liner, as well as prevent having to clean Up after effects [Featuring Chanel summertime 2017]

cleaning up after effects is one of my least preferred things in this universe, ideal up there with ill-fitting underwear. I LOATHE having to clean up powder under my eyes. I just have much better things to make with my life, ya know?

I just recently stumbled on this method where you smoke out the outer corners utilizing an eyeliner, as well as it’s the Best. Thing. Ever. since no fallout. Basically, all you requirement is a pencil liner, your preferred blending clean as well as your finest resting b*tch face.

Ha! I kid, I kid! The RBF is absolutely optional.

Step 1: begin with your (nearly) completed makeup look

But seriously, what you will requirement is a almost completed makeup look, so let’s begin with that, OK?

Since you won’t have to concern about cleaning up any type of after effects (YAY!), you can already have your eyes, base, cheeks as well as lips done.

Here I’m using a few things from Chanel summertime 2017, as well as I’ll listing whatever down at the bottom of the post.

Step 2: apply a dark liner to the outer corner

Grab a dark liner that will complement your look, as well as reach for something that’s either off-black, gray or dark brown — something that isn’t as well dark however will still add that smokiness to the outer corners.

I mean, you might utilize a true black liner instead, however then you’d have to do a lot more blending.

Also, you’ll want your liner to be somewhat smudgy in a formula that doesn’t set incredibly quickly. That method you can quickly push it around with a brush.

I’m utilizing a greenish black to opt for the warm bronze as well as pink tones I’m wearing.

Step 3: blend with your preferred blending brush

Take that liner, as well as apply it in the outer corners of your lids on top of your existing eye makeup, as well as don’t concern if it looks messy. That’s absolutely fine.

Now, get hold of your preferred blending clean (I like the MAC 221 since I don’t have a great deal of lid space, as well as the skinny tapered idea is best for exactly pushing product where I want it to go).

Lay the clean on top of the liner, as well as carefully swipe it back as well as forth, making small bit circles to diffuse the liner as well as smoke out the corner.

If some liner ends up on your lower lash line, that’s cool. just opt for it! Run your clean along the liner to mellow it out as well as provide some meaning to your lower lash line. That color will likewise assist to tie the smoke on your upper lids to your lower lash line as well as total the look.

Step 4: lift the look with a sponge

Finally, carefully run a sponge packed with a bit bit of concealer or foundation along the lower outer edge to clean it up as well as lift the look.

Done!

Why You requirement to try curling Your Lashes as well as applying a thin coat of Mascara before Doing Your Eyeshadow, ASAP

Why You requirement to try curling Your Lashes as well as applying a thin coat of Mascara before Doing Your Eyeshadow, ASAP

Here’s an eye makeup tip to try! before applying your eyeshadow, curl your eyelashes first, then apply the thinnest layer of your preferred mascara. Now, with your eyes wide open, look directly into a mirror, as well as notice where the tips of your upper lashes are.

Now here’s the tip: Take your eyeshadow up that far, as much as the tips of your lashes.

Voila!

I’ve been doing this the whole week, as well as it’s been a game changer for me since I tend to take my eyeshadow up truly high (like, seriously, almost to my brows!), however when I utilize my curled lashes as a guide, it’s simple to tell exactly how far as much as take my crease colors.

And this tip assists even more if you have hooded eyes or otherwise don’t have a great deal of lid area (like moi).

Lastly, when you’re completed applying your eyeshadow, apply a second coat of mascara to cover up any type of eyeshadow that may have gotten on your lashes.
